How to merge PDF files
A practical checklist for combining PDF documents, checking page order and reviewing the merged file.
1. Prepare the source files
Collect the PDFs you need and remove any documents that should not be included. Check whether a file is password-protected or damaged before starting.
2. Decide the page order
Write down the intended order before selecting files. If the tool allows reordering, arrange the documents before merging. File names with prefixes such as 01, 02 and 03 can help you stay organized.
3. Merge and inspect
Create the combined PDF, then open it. Check the first page, transitions between source documents, page orientation and the final page.
4. Share the correct copy
Give the merged document a clear filename. Avoid overwriting the originals until you have verified the combined file and confirmed that no pages are missing.
